Use of third-party support tools and utilities are integral to the integration and support of our video processors. There are other tools/utilities to provide this same functionality and developers should use what works best for them.

Tera Term
SightLine recommends Tera Term for troubleshooting, debugging, and issuing commands on SightLine hardware.

HW Group Virtual Serial Port
VSP3 is intended to help software engineers and developers to create/debug/test applications that use serial ports. It is able to create various virtual devices to transmit/receive data. This utility is used in the TCP-Pass-Through examples in supporting documentation.

HW Group Hercules Setup Utility
Hercules SETUP utility is a useful serial port terminal (RS-485 or RS-232 terminal), UDP/IP terminal, and TCP/IP Client Server terminal. Excellent for testing the serial Raw-Pass-Through option on SLA boards.

WinSCP is an open-source free SFTP client, SCP client, FTPS client, and FTP client for Windows. Its main function is file transfer between a local and a remote computer. Beyond this, WinSCP offers scripting and basic file manager functionality.

FileZilla – FTP
An FTP client utility that can be used for accessing our customer FTP portal. NOTE: Please use the supplied username, password, and address provided by SightLine Applications.

MiniTool – Disk Partition
A partition manager that you can use to format and create partitions on MicroSD cards or physical hard drives.

ExifTool Application
Great application for reading, writing, and editing meta information in a wide variety of files. ExifTool supports many different metadata formats, and it’s very easy to use.

Wireshark is the world’s foremost and most widely-used network protocol analyzer.

Information on standards for motion imagery, associated metadata, audio, and other related systems for use within the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and United States Imagery and Geospatial System (DoD/IC/USIGS) referenced in SightLine documentation.
